Battle of the Beers

You may have noticed the large banner in the main hall promoting the Battle of the Beers, so what’s it all about?

A few years ago the Festival Organisers asked local brewers to produce a new beer to be launched at the festival and this became “The Battle of the Beers.”

There are now over 30 breweries within the Tyneside & Northumberland CAMRA Branch area and all have been invited to take part in the battle! The beers that they’ve produced for us will be launched at the 39th Newcastle Beer & Cider Festival having first been judged by an independent panel that will taste all the beers and chose a winner. The winner will be announced on Wednesday afternoon – if you can’t make it, keep watching this page, or follow us on twitter / like us on Facebook.

If you want to try any of these beers look out for the Battle of the Beers toppers on the pump clips.

Placings in the competition will appear in the column to the right of the table when they are announced.
